Gearing up to ride for Dad

Prostate cancer is the most common form of the disease amongst Canadian men, according to a press release. On average, one in seven men will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime, mostly after age 60. One in 27 men will die of it.

Mayor John Rodriguez officially proclaimed and designated June 14 to 20 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Week in Sudbury.

On June 19, the Northern Cancer Research Foundation (NCRF) and the Blue Knights Ontario X will host the 10th annual Prostate Cancer Motorcycle Ride for Dad, at the Regional Cancer Program (RCP) in Sudbury. This annual pledge-driven event was developed to increase awareness and raise funds in support of prostate cancer research and patient care at the RCP. Since inception, the Blue Knights Ontario X, a riders group comprised of active and retired law enforcement officers, have helped raise $261,000.

The Northern Cancer Research Foundation and the Blue Knights Ontario X would like to invite everyone to join in the fight against prostate cancer by participating in the 2010 Prostate Cancer Motorcycle Ride for Dad.
