The Greater Sudbury Hydro Plus and Electrical Safety and Conservation are teaching school children from JK to grade 8 about electrical safety in their schools, homes, outdoors, near utility poles, towers and substations.
The younger children learn 15-20 safety and conservation messages through a safety puppet called 'Wires".
The older students learn about a variety of electrical hazards including what to do if they are in a car accident involving a utility pole and power line.
They learn about different types of energy and energy consumption. An electrical shock was demonstrated with a dill pickle and 120 volts.
