Tammy Urso (left), a nuclear medicine technologist, talks about how much Marjorie Gardner (right) is appreciated as a valued volunteer at the Sudbury Regional Hospital.

Gardner, who has volunteered with the hospital for 30 years (or 17,000 hours), recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Family, friends and hospital staff attended a celebratory event at the hospital March 10.

Gardner began volunteering when she ventured down to the hospital and asked them “if there was anything she can do.” She was given a position in the nuclear medicine department.
