Cole Howard loved music.

The 19-year-old was the drummer in Sanctuaries, a local metal band, before he died in a car crash on Highway 69 on Jan. 3.

A group of fellow music lovers have opted to remember Howard in the best way they could think of — by putting on a benefit concert for his family.

The lineup includes Counterparts, Howard's favourite band, as well as Dancing With Paris, Uplift, Heartless, Wolves In Stride and Momentacrux.

“If you were a friend of Cole's, or supported his band, or would just like to pay your respects by throwing down, please make it out to this,” Marty DePietro, one of the show's organizers, said.

“It's for a good cause, and for a good friend.”

Tickets to the Feb. 18 show can be purchased for $10 at Rock Topic, Guitar Clinic, Records on Wheels and Skin Illusions Tattoo Studios. All funds raised will go to the Howard family. Music gets underway at 5 p.m. at the Jubilee Centre, located at 195 Applegrove St.
