Magic and mindgames

The use of psychology, misdirection, suggestion and showmanship is what makes Svengali so mind-warping. The duo of Gabriello Pitman and Stefano Presenza is bringing its magic and hypnosis show to the Cambrian College eDome March 23 and 24.

The use of psychology, misdirection, suggestion and showmanship is what makes Svengali so mind-warping.

The duo of Gabriello Pitman and Stefano Presenza is bringing its magic and hypnosis show to the Cambrian College eDome March 23 and 24.

Pitman said the show uses mind mechanics over trickery to wow audiences. There are no secrets — just astonishing feats.

“We're going to tell everyone exactly how we achieve it,” he said, but was confident it wouldn't change a thing.

While they have been performing together for quite some time, this is the first time they will put on this particular show.

“It's just really cool,” he said. “It's more honest from a performance perspective.”

The performance also includes the musical stylings of Syn Beat, Giovanni Presenza and Jeff Stewart.

Without giving away too much of its magic, Pitman said it will be a “spectacular” experience.

“The show will end with a bang,” he said. “I can't reveal what it is, but it's cool.”

Tickets to the performance can be purchased by phoning the Sudbury Theatre Centre box office at 705-674-8381 ext. 21 or by visiting sudburytheatre.on.ca. Mention promotional ticket pricing for special rates. Showtime is 8 p.m.
