You don't have to be an artist to be creative.

Artists on Elgin's Chalk-A-Doodle-Day is proof of that.

Shelby Ramm, business manager of AOE, said the day of live music, artist demonstrations and chalk art drawing is meant to bring together people of all ages in a fun, creativity-inspired environment.

Events take place July 7 at the municipal-metered parking lot at the corner of Larch and Elgin streets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“People often associate sidewalk chalk with children; however, it's a really fun medium, no matter what age you are,” Ramm stated.
