The newest bundle of joy has arrived from the Sudbury Living offices.

Sudbury Living Parents was officially launched July 7 with a cake and balloon celebration at Toys “R” Us.

Patricia Mills, publisher of the magazine, said she was “pleasantly surprised” by the response.

“Lots of kids and lots of grandparents and lots of parents” picked up their copy of the annul publication, hot off the presses, she said.

Mark Frayne, a father of two boys under the age of 10, said he was impressed by the publication.

“I like the fact you can read what support is in the city,” he said.

Frayne joked that it would have been nice to have a resource like this 10 years ago, when his first son was born.

Mills said now just seemed like the time to launch it.

“We’re going into almost a second baby boom,” she said. “A lot of young families are starting up in Greater Sudbury. What we wanted to do was give them information that was pertinent to our area, specifically from Greater Sudbury, about Greater Sudbury.”

Copies of the publication, which matches the glossy standard of Sudbury Living, Sudbury Living for Students and Sudbury Weddings, are now available.

Those wanting to read parenting tips, stories and learn more about what resources are available in the city can do so by picking up a copy from the Northern Life office at 158 Elgin St. or a variety of other locations, including local libraries, Best Start hubs, Toys “R” Us, the Sudbury and District Health Unit and from advertisers.
