Strung Out, a collaboration between Cambrian College guitar professor Matthew Gould, violin professor Beth Ilana Schneider-Gould and guest pianist Nathanael May is premiering A Blurring Cloud at the college.

The music of internationally acclaimed German composer Michael Quell will be in the spotlight of their performance, which takes place Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Cambrian College.

“Commissioned by the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University, A Blurring Cloud bookends a 50-year exploration of music for piano, violin and guitar,” a college media release stated.

According to Gould, the combination of the three instruments is a relatively new one.

Along with A Blurring Cloud, the trio will perform a number of other Canadian and American works.

Tickets can be purchased from Cambrian, by phoning 705-566-8101 ext. 7325. They cost $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.
