Pet owners typically want whats best for their furry friends.
Even right here in Sudbury, there are countless resources available to enhance the lives of canine companions — perhaps even ones the average owner doesn't know about.
That's why Magical Paws is hosting Fun Fur Facts Woof Fest. The Sept. 22 event, taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Minnow Lake Place, is a gathering of all things dog-related.
Annette Lumbis, who heads up Magical Paws, said the event is a great way for dog lovers to meet each other, interact and learn more about their beloved pets.
“The purpose of the event is to bring the dog community together for a common goal,” Lumbis said.
That goal?
“We want to promote awareness and education,” Lumbis said. “Sudbury has proven time after time how many dogs lovers there are in our city. Many have opened their wallets, walked the walks for cause and signed petitions, but it isn't enough. Magical Paws believes that bringing awareness and education can go a long way in making a difference in the lives of dogs and owners.”
A number of local industry service providers are scheduled to take part in the event, as well as a dog sled team, the Sudbury and District Kennel Club and the K9 Unit from Greater Sudbury Police Service.
The community is invited to take part in the canine celebration — their dogs can come, too, provided they are up-to-date on their vaccines and wearing a leash.
