Music and kids were two things about which Rona MacDonald was most passionate. Following her unexpected death in 2011, her family and friends decided to honour her in a way she would appreciate — a concert, with the funds going to Camp Quality.

For the second year in a row, the MacDonald family and friends of Rona hosted Rockin' For Rona. This year, the event brought in $5,055 for Camp Quality — bringing the total from the last two years to $7,290.

Organizers of the event, which was held recently at the Caruso Club, send “a big thank you to everyone that helped out to make this happen — all the bands, Guitar Clinic, John Cimino, Caruso Club, Camp Quality volunteers. Looking forward to next year.”

The third annual Rockin' For Rona concert is already scheduled for Aug. 23, 2013 at the Caruso Club.

“My family and myself are so happy that this years event was again a wonderful success and we were able to present Camp Quality with this great donation,” Mary McLeod, Rona's sister, said.
