Local chefs serve up local flavours

Locavores are invited to sample the culinary projects of three of the city's finest cooks at Eat Local Sudbury's Chef Showdown.

The debut gala of its kind will see Collège Boréal's Jean Huneault, Ristorante Verdicchio's Alejandro Winzer and Legacy Catering's Stephanie Piché create meals from local ingredients.

The fundraiser in support of Eat Local Sudbury will support the organization in its quest to create a sustainable food system in Greater Sudbury.

Along with a three-course dinner featuring creations from each chef, the evening will include live entertainment and a silent auction.

Tickets cost $70 for members of the ELS co-operative and $75 for the general public. They can be purchased from www.eatlocalsudbury.com, at the shop located at 176 Larch St. or by phone at 705-521-6717.

Tables of eight are still available.
