It has been 25 years since Blue Rodeo released Outskirts, their debut album.

In celebration of the milestone, the Canadian rockers are playing 25 shows across the country with a stop in Sudbury Feb. 7, 2013.

Since their careers began, Blue Rodeo has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, sold more than 4 million records, won five Juno awards for Group of the Year, received the keys to the city of Toronto and earned a star on Canada's Walk of Fame. The notoriety is nice, but it pales in comparison to the good fortune of being musicians.

“I think that's the testament — to really do it for a living,” said frontman Jim Cuddy. “Not just live the life of a popular band but to actually create music for a living.”

Tickets to the Sudbury show, which gets underway at the Sudbury Arena at 8 p.m., go on sale Nov. 2 at 10 a.m.

They can be purchased for $29 and $55.50 from the arena, by phoning 705-671-3000 or online at www.greatersudbury.ca.
