La Gang à Popa has been tickling funny bones for a decade with their short skits, music and dance performances.

The local comedy troupe produces a new 'cabarire' every winter — the two-hour cabaret-style show blends humour with performance.

The troupe typically presents its material in French; however, due to popular demand, they've done some shows in English.

La Gang à Popa came to life in 2002 following a play produced by Valley East Theatre in which the troupe’s six founding members performed, some for the very first time on stage. They had so much fun that they decided to create their own troupe, to keep entertaining theatre lovers in French.

The troupe, which consists of 20 members, are all volunteers and range from comedians to writers to technical support. The troupe also produces full-length comedies on occasion.

In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the troupe is putting on three special shows, featuring a dozen of its best-ever skits.

On Nov. 9 and 10, they are performing at the club d’âge d’or in Hanmer, then at the the club d’âge d’or in Azilda Nov. 17.
