It's not everyday you can say you ate more cheeseburgers than a character who is famous for eating cheeseburgers. But today, I can say that. And I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that.

It's not everyday you can say you ate more cheeseburgers than a character who is famous for eating cheeseburgers.

But today, I can say that. And I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that.

Before heading to the Townehouse to entertain the crowd with their stand-up comedy and silly songs, Randy and Mr. Lahey of Trailer Park Boys fame agreed to stop by Frank's Deli for a bit of friendly competition.

Trailer Park Boys is a Canadian comedy mockumentary television series created and directed by Mike Clattenburg that focuses on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, some of whom are ex-convicts, living in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The television series is a continuation of Clattenburg's 1999 film of the same name and premiered on the Showcase television network in 2001.The final season ended in 2007. Talks of a third TPB's movie are in the works.

Mr. Lahey, played by actor John Dunsworth, made sure the speed-eating competition between Randy and me was fair. Although not in uniform, the trailer park supervisor was still able to keep the contest under control. I don't, however, think Randy was quite ready with his A-game. I mean, this guy, played by actor Patrick Roach, is known for his love of cheesy hamburgers. I'm pretty sure if he wanted to out-eat me, he could.

But in the time it took me to eat three delicious cheesy vegetarian burgers, made specially for the occasion by the fine folks at Frank's Deli, Randy was still chomping on his second all-meat burger.

While he was clearly enjoying the chow, he certainly didn't look compelled to shovel them into his mouth at warp speed. But that's OK.

It is kind of cool to be able to say I beat Randy Bobandy at his own game, and only have a moderate “I-want-to-puke-from-eating-way-too-much” sort of feeling going on.

Having had the pleasure of chatting with the boys over lunch, I am definitely excited to check out their show. Come by the Townehouse tonight around 9 p.m. to catch their antics. Cover is $20 at the door.
