Families and families of friends are invited to learn all about ice fishing Feb. 17 — Family Day.
From noon until 4 p.m., Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is teaching aspiring fishers about proper catch-and-release techniques and how to make the most of the great outdoors. In celebration of Ontario Family Fishing Weekend, licenses are not required to be on the lake.
Other planned activities include an outdoor fire, free fishing gear and bait, snowman and sculpture building, fishing rod-making workshops and snowshoeing around the lake.
All events take place at the Lake Laurentian Nature Chalet at 2309 South Bay Rd.
