Sudbury's many waterways will once again be the highlight of Artist On Elgin's Picture Our Lakes photo contest.

“This year Picture Our Lakes is celebrating the community’s relationships with the lakes,” said Janie Beauparlant, marketing and public affairs officer for AOE. “Along with the submission of a photo, the photographer will also include a caption on how the lake or the moment captured is special to them.”

In order to participate, photographers must submit pictures that involve water within the boundaries of Greater Sudbury. Photos can be submitted to seasonal categories, or the youth division for shutterbugs 18 and under.

For the first time ever, digital submissions will be accepted for the contest. To submit a piece, visit artistsonelgin.ca or stop by the shop on Elgin.

Winning photos will be published in the organization's seventh annual calendar.

“The contest aims to raise awareness of and appreciation for the natural beauty of Sudbury’s water bodies, while encouraging the public to get involved in and support the arts.”
