Open to residents of Ontario, six fantastic entries were submitted and have been narrowed down to three finalists: Melissa Lauren, Irene Torres and the Sugar Devils, and Lia Tramontini.
The top three videos will be open for online voting until Aug. 31 and the winner will be announced live on stage during the fifth annual Jazz Sudbury Festival.
All three of the finalists will be performing on the Collège Boréal main stage of the festival on Sept. 6 at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre. Following the performances, the winner will be announced and walk away with $1,000, and the Sigy Born Award.
“Last year’s winner, Darlene DarlenYa, was an absolute star,” said Cecilia Aparicio, festival manager. “Every year we see such talented and diverse artists and this year is no different. Each one of our top three finalists brings something amazing to the table — it will be hard for people to choose a favourite but I can’t wait to see the votes come in!”
