Auditions are set for two newly formed Theatre Cambrian programs: the the Kids’ Curtain Academy and the Theatre Cambrian Youth Company.
Mark Mannisto, Theatre Cambrian’s executive director, announced the formation of the new Theatre Cambrian Youth Company.
“We have combined our current Kids’ Curtain program and the Theatre Cambrian Academy to create the Kids’ Curtain Academy to be used as a stepping stone for the Theatre Cambrian Youth Company (TCYC),” he said in a release.
Theatre Cambrian will have theatre available for children ages 6- 11 with the Kids’ Curtain Academy and ages 12 and up with the TCYC.
Registrations for Theatre Cambrian’s Kids’ Curtain Academy are now being accepted. Children will be mentored in singing, acting and dancing with professional instructors. The first semester will focus on varied workshops and training while the second semester will focus on the students rehearsing for a year-end recital.
The cost for the Kids’ Curtain Academy is $75 per month.
The inaugural production for the Theatre Cambrian Youth Company will be the school version of the rock and roll musical, "Grease".
Auditions for the TCYC will be held Sept. 4, 6 and 8. Auditions are being held by appointment only. To book a private audition, call 524-7317.
