YES Theatre holding auditions for In the Heights

YES Theatre is hosting auditions for its production of In the Heights, slated to be staged at the Sudbury Theatre Centre Aug. 8-23.

This musical tells the story of New York’s Washington Heights neighbourhood, and boasts three generations of music.

An immigrant story, "In the Heights" showcases a community on the brink of change, struggling with reconciling their past with their future.

"In the Heights" is the winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestration.

Auditions will be held on Feb. 16 and 17, in which each applicant is asked to be familiar with the show and prepare the following: two contrasting songs, preferably from musical theatre and that feature different vocal range; and one monologue from a contemporary play.
