Hanmer resident Anick Gervais, 28, is one of 15 houseguests who will fight to be the last person standing in Big Brother Canada's second season.

Gervais, a reiki master, said in her bio on the Big Brother Canada Facebook page she is competing for a few reasons. First, she said she wants the money to set up a healing centre, but she also loves a challenge.

“On top of that, I have kind of cocooned myself over the past few years and I haven’t really put myself out there like I used to,” she wrote. “Lately I kind of feel like I’ve become a butterfly and I’m ready for this challenge – I know who I am and have created a protective barrier around myself.”

Big Brother Canada Season 2 premiers March 5 at 9 p.m. and airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.
