STC offers youth film acting classes

A little bit of Hollywood for teens becomes part of the excitement offered by the Sudbury Theatre Centre this spring. On three consecutive Sundays, youths are invited to be part of a film set from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rainbow Cinemas.

On three consecutive Sundays, youths are invited to be part of a film set from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rainbow Cinemas.

Participants will be given scripts to perform on the big screen. Video of these scenes will be projected live on the giant screen. Participants will learn the nuts and bolts of how to do an audition and how to work with script sides.

Led by professional filmmaker Ben Paquette, a crew of at least eight professionals will create an authentic film set. The crew includes Paquette and at least two camera persons, two sound crew, one makeup artist and one producer.

There will be supervision for youths included in this package.

The classes take place at the Rainbow Cinemas on Sundays March 30, April 6 and April 13 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a one-hour break.

Cost of the program is $120 for STC subscribers and $140 for non-subscribers.

Registration is on a first-come basis at the Sudbury Theatre Centre box office at 705-674-8381. Space is limited.
