Sudbury native Marida Mohammed is still in the kitchen.
She's now made it to the top five in episodes of MasterChef Canada aired so far. In the last episode, Mississauga's Pino DiCerbo was eliminated.
The final five cooks vying for the $100,000 grand prize on the reality television show are Mohammed, Oakville's Eric Chong, B.C.'s Kaila Klassen, Winnipeg's Mike Green and Calgary's Tammara Behl.
Mohammed, 31, who has no formal chef training, previously told Northern Life the show — which she calls a “great experience” — gave her confidence in her cooking abilities.
“It really is something that anybody can do if that's their passion,” she said. “I think if I can totally make it on this show and have a chance to showcase my food, then anybody can do it.”
