Due to rain and thunderstorms in the weather forecast, the outdoor screening of “Ghostbusters” in downtown Sudbury originally slated for this evening has been rescheduled for Aug. 6.

Organizers are asking for donations at the event in support of efforts to bring a cinema to downtown Sudbury in the wake of the closure of Rainbow Cinemas last year.

The evening starts at 8 p.m. in the parking lot at 50 Cedar St. (the corner of Durham and Cedar streets) with an acoustic performance by Hello Holiday frontman Jeff Valentini.

The movie will be screened starting at 9 p.m. An after-party will be held at nearby Peddler's Pub. Audience members are asked to bring their own seating for the musical performance and movie screening.
