Learn about turtles at Conservation Area Aug. 27
Lake Laurentian Conservation Area's one-kilometre self-guided trail now includes specially marked signs along the way with a children's story.
That story is Frank Glew's “Samuel’s Most Important Message,” featuring a turtle with a message about taking care of our planet.
On Aug. 27, the public is invited to hike the new story trail, meet Glew and hear a talk on turtles by Laurentian prof and turtle expert Jacqueline Litzgus and Junction Creek Stewardship Committee member Sarah Woods.
The event takes place at the Conservation Area's Nature Chalet from 6-8 p.m.
The initiative has been put on through a partnership between the Greater Sudbury Public Library, Conservation Sudbury and the Rainbow Routes Association
