Mayoral candidates invited to arts debate

Mayoral candidates have been invited by Sudbury Arts Council to a Oct. 5 debate focusing on arts and culture.

At the event, which begins at 7 p.m. at Theatre Cambrian, each mayoral candidate will be given time for an opening and closing statement, and the floor will be open to questions related to support for arts and cultural activities and development.

“While recognizing that the arts is an important economic engine for the municipality, city funding for support and development is low compared to many other centres,” said a press release from the arts council.
