Julie Venne Courtemanche is the first in a series of artists showcasing their works during the 2014-2015 season at Sudbury Theatre Centre's art gallery.

Venne Courtemanche believes that visual art is truly meaningful when it awakens a new perspective, inspires a reflective moment or evokes an unexpected emotion in both the artist and the observer.

She finds her roots on the shores of the French River in Northern Ontario. A life-long painter who specializes in acrylic and water colors, she has taught visual and media arts at College Notre Dame for the last 25 years.

An award winning artist, she was honoured with the People's Choice Award at the 2013 RBC Dominion “Art Impact” juried show for her work "Mother Earth.”

In 2011, her piece entitled “Sun Worshippers” was selected to be on permanent display in the atrium of the Vale Living with Lakes Centre. Artists on Elgin hosted her most recent exhibit — Divine Feminine.

To view and/or purchase the works of Venne Courtemanche, please visit the STC, 170 Shaughnessy St., from 9 to 5 daily or on show nights until 7:30 p.m. during the run of The Rocky Horror Show. For further information, call the STC Box Office at 705-674-8381. Visit www.JulieCourtemanche.com.
