Sudbury-born indie rock musician Shawn Brady starts a cross-Canada tour in support of his second album, “Broken Traffic Lights,” at Theatre Cambrian starting at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11.

A press release said the album is a “realistic, no-holds-barred yet still hopeful examination of the world he is experiencing as a husband and father.”

“I am writing about that grey area between right and wrong,” said Brady, who's now based in Toronto.

“My first record was very much about bringing light to dark places. It was an upbeat record and that was sort of where I was at that point in my life, because things were really coming together for me as an original artist.

“On this record, I have an 18-month-old daughter, and that really brings into focus the kind of world she is going to be growing up in. And the fact is we are moving into an age, and have been for some time, where it's not really about right and wrong, black and white.

“There are so many shades of grey where you need to make decisions that can affect you and affect others.”

The press release said Brady has “an impressive gift for crafting songs that are melodically infectious, genre-bending masterpieces.”

Tickets to the event cost $20, and are available on Theatre Cambrian's website at www.theatrecambrian.ca or by phone at 705-524-7317.
