The Sudbury Food Bank is taking part in the world-wide attempt to set a new world record for the most people in the world dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller at the same time Oct. 25.

Registration for the Thrill the World dance event takes place starting at 6 p.m. in the food bank's parking lot, located at 1105 Webbwood Dr.

“Thrill the World was founded and created in 2007 with the idea that, at the same time all around the world, everyone dresses like zombies and dances the Michael Jackson Thriller for Local Charities and world records,” a press release said.

“Sudbury has participated twice in the past. It is time again for Sudbury’s zombies to rise and join the Thriller. It doesn’t matter if you have two left feet — anyone can learn Thriller.”

A workshop to learn the dance takes place Oct. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. Dress rehearsals also take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25, before the official event.

Registration is free, but canned donations the Sudbury Food Bank are appreciated. Participants supply their own costumes and make-up.
