Ethan Hawke is currently shooting the film “Born to be Blue” in Sudbury, based on the life of jazz musician Chet Baker. It's produced by BTB Blue Productions Ltd, for release in 2015.

The movie also stars Callum Keith Rennie and Carmen Ejogo.

Filming features several recognizable Sudbury fixtures, including the Townehouse Tavern and the pedestrian underpass between Elgin Street and Riverside Drive.

Public access will remain open to all businesses and the underpass with intermittent delays for filming.

Dean Cain was also in town this week to do a cameo in the Hallmark flick “30th Birthday.” Cain did a walk on during shooting in the SRO nightclub downtown Tuesday night.

Shooting for that film is happening today on portions of Durham and Larch streets.

The local production company Hideaway Pictures is involved in the production of both films.
