Concert promoter La Slague is looking forward to offering Sudbury an evening of jazz like none other on Nov. 15.

Quebec's Benoît Paradis Trio, with support from Sudbury's own Hugh Jazz, hits the stage at Collège Boréal’s concert hall at 8 p.m.

Set to release their third album, “T'as-tu toute?”, Benoît Paradis Trio is an entertaining hybrid of American jazz standards, metropolitan French chansons in the Serge Gainsbourg or Boris Vian vein, and quirky contemporary Québécois songwriting.

Hugh Jazz needs little introduction in Sudbury. The five-piece bridges tradition and innovation with a Django jazz basis that blends intimately with rockabilly, blues, punk, pop, even country. They have a wide following of fans, young and old, who can’t get enough of their performances in all sorts of venues throughout the city.

Tickets are $25 (adults) and $22.50 (students and seniors). A limited number of special tickets for high-school students are available for $5 through La Slague’s “J’y vais” program.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at 705-525-5606, ext. 4, or online at leTNO.ca.
