Sudburian Mimi O’Bonsawin is set to launch her first CD at a Nov. 29 event.

“Mimi’s positive, affirming songs are richly textured with her love of the great northern landscapes she grew up with, and pulsing with her Aboriginal Abenaki roots, as well as the music and proud traditions of her French Canadian heritage,” a press release said.

During the launch party for her self-titled CD, O’Bonsawin will perform all of the songs on the album. She'll be backed by a live band, including Thomas Wade, who produced the CD.

The launch takes place starting at 7:30 p.m. at Collège Boréal. Tickets cost $30 each, and include a CD. For tickets, phone 705-969-8256 or visit King’s Sportswear. For more information, visit www.mimi.ca.
