Grade 3 École St-Denis students took part in a traditional Ste-Catherine Day activity Nov. 20 — making taffy — at the Centre de santé communautaire du Grand Sudbury.

“The end product was delicious and disappeared quickly,” a press release said. “They also were introduced to this French-Canadian tradition that is still celebrated four centuries following its introduction to Canada.”

Students and schools taking part in this activity were invited to donate personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc) for the Centre's Corner Clinic (Clinique du Coin) which serves Greater Sudbury's homeless population.
