Kick off your holiday season with some cool island groove thanks to The House of David Reggae Band, which visits The Townehouse Tavern Dec. 5.

“Throughout their career, House of David Gang has been known for their uplifting roots rock reggae sound, which pays homage to the classic 70s and 80s Jamaican sound mixed with a modern roots Canadian feel,” a press release said.

“The band takes its name from The House of David, an after hours spot on Queen Street West in Toronto that was a Rasta hotspot for reasoning, dancing and Reggae music from the late 80s until the mid 90s.”

This is a repeat visit from the band. The House of David Reggae Band also played at The Townehouse in September.

The concert starts at around 11 p.m. Tickets cost $10 at the door, or $20 with a CD.
