Arts council aims to 'connect, communicate and celebrate'

The 2014-2015 board of the Sudbury Arts Council has a varied and wide representation of the arts and culture community of Greater Sudbury and area, including Francophone and First Nation members.

The Sudbury Arts Council recently marked its 42nd year, continuing to develop and fulfil its mandate to "connect, communicate and celebrate" arts and culture in the city, thereby, enhancing the quality of life for all residents while contributing to the cultural and economic well-being of the area, a press release said.

In serving to connect, the Sudbury Arts Council brings together members of the arts community and their various audiences, and is a source of what’s happening.

The Sudbury Arts Council serves to communicate as an arts umbrella organization to work for and advocate on behalf of all artists and to be a source of relevant information.

The Sudbury Arts Council works to celebrate by encouraging awareness and appreciation for residents and visitors of the wide diversity of Arts, Culture and Heritage in our area.
