Music and Film in Motion (MFM) has announced its Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards will return in May 2015.

The event brings together members of the Canadian music and film industries to celebrate the immense talent in the region with film screenings, musical performances, panels and workshops.

The weekend culminates in a lively awards ceremony that will recognize the best of our region’s artistic output from the last two years.

“The NOMFAs have always been a source of pride for the community and we’re really excited to take that to the next level,” says MFM’s associate executive director Tammy Frick. “We’ve got some cool enhancements in store that we can’t wait to roll out.”

For one, MFM has broadened the film award categories to include the high-profile productions we’ve seen take a stake in the north in past years.

These productions will now have a chance to be recognized for their investments and be showcased to eager Northern audiences alongside other nominees.
