The Star Keeper, a universal play without words for audiences aged four years and up, has circled the planet many times since 1997, gathering many awards along the way.

The play comes to TNO April 11, with two stagings, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Borderless theatre of images, shadows and light, The Star Keeper is immersed in the magical universe of children's dreams.

The puppets, music, scenography and special effects create a delicate and poetic language which tells the story of the initiatory quest of Pretzel and his shining star.

As he does every evening, an old Pierrot draws a curtain of night over the world and lights up the stars. Then, he goes to bed without noticing that a star has fallen.

Pretzel, a caring worm, finds the star and helps it find its way back to heaven. On his journey, the resolute little worm encounters many strange and amusing characters – a family of picnicking seahorses, a tap-dancing spider, accordion-fish and The Bubble Charmer – and braves the perils of the wide world.

Tickets, which cost $5 for children 17 and under, $15 for post-secondary students, $17 for seniors and $20 for adults, are available online at www.letno.ca.
