The Toronto-based melodic Viking metal band is promoting their upcoming EP, The Iron Tempests, due out later this year to follow up their 2013 full length album, An Olden Tale.

Formed in 2005, "vesperia" means "land of the evening star," a name chosen to encompass the band's music and their Canadian patriotism.

Shortly after releasing 2011's full-length Voyage from Vinland, Vesperia redefined their direction with the 2012 demo The Swordsman and firmed it up with An Olden Tale a year later.

Vesperia performs at Little Montreal on April 24, along with metal bands from Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto and the debut appearance from Sudbury's first slam-death metal band, Ruptured Birth.

The show kicks off at 9 p.m.
