Rogers has been performing with his brother, the late Stan Rogers, ever since he got out of high school.

The brothers were widely recognized as the most influential aspect of the North American Folk scene and the creators of a Canadian musical identity. Unfortunately, Stan Rogers died in a plane crash in 1983, weeks before the group was to head out on its first North American tour.

Rather then giving in to grief, Garnet Rogers continued to pursue his passion for folk songs, but added a modern twist of blues, rock and country. He remains an optimist who sings about the unrecognized, everyday heroes and the small victories in life.

Rogers has turned down offers from major labels to do his music his own way. Garnet lives on a farm in Brantford, Ontario, where his wife raises champion thoroughbreds.

A dinner and entertainment bundle costs $55 including HST, while seats for the show only can be purchased in advance for $25 at the Motley Kitchen (70 Young St.) or call 705-222-6685 during business hours (Mon-Fri, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.)

Doors open at 6 p.m. with buffet dinner served at 6:30. The show runs from 8 p.m. to about 10:15 p.m.

The Dinner & A Show series is held in association with Northern Lights Festival Boreal.
