Downtown Movie Night Under the Stars is back!

Following a couple of successful outdoor movie screenings in the downtown last year, Downtown Sudbury is partnering with Launchpad Marketing to present Downtown Movie Night Under the Stars once again.

The family friendly movies will be screened the last Thursday of each month from May until October at the 50 Cedar St. parking lot.

The first movie night is May 28, and starts at 8:30 p.m. Kicking off the outdoor movie season is a classic from 1989, director Tim Burton's darkly gothic version of Batman.

Movie nights will be held June 25, July 30, August 27, September 24 and October 29. The public will be asked to choose the remaining films through the Facebook site for Downtown Movie Night Under the Stars.

Each evening begins with live musical entertainment, followed by a short film (provided by Cinefest) and then the feature.

That's not all that Downtown Sudbury has in store for the summer.

-Up Fest takes place throughout the downtown from Aug. 5-15.

-Downtown Sudbury Rib Fest takes place in the downtown on the Labour Day weekend, Sept. 4-6.
