Rockin' and rollin' at Rainbow schools May 28

Grade 4 and 8 students of Rainbow Schools will watch their classmates rock the Valley View Public School stage on May 28 for the “Schools of Rock” concert.

“Our young musicians are very excited to perform, this presentation will offer some wonderful entertainment by the talented students of Rainbow Schools,” said Norm Blaseg, director of education.

The concert will showcase rock bands from Lively District Secondary School’s Intermediate Program, under the direction of music teacher Cory Ross; Levack Public School, under the direction of music teacher Nicole Rocheleau; Pinecrest Public School, under the direction of music teachers Scott Zoldy and Keenan Comartin; and Valley View Public School, under the direction of music teacher Denis Lafleur.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will support the rock band programs and the Joan Mantle Music Trust.
