Montreal rockers Dany Laj and the Looks hit the stage at the Townehouse tonight.
The group's touring in support of their new album, Word on the Street, the followup the 2012 EP Telepathic Voices.
The album is a collection of stories of day-to-day life experienced by Laj through his travels. “Densely packed with driven melodic hooks,” Word on the Street is described as power pop at its very best.
Originally from Kirkland Lake, on this latest offering Laj has penned odes to Queen Street West, small towns and, what's an album without it, love.
Filling out the Looks are Jeanette Dowling (bass) and Lewis Hanford (drums).
Word on the Street hit the street on May 5 via Squirtgun Records and eOne Music Canada.
The show is $7 at the door. Show starts at 9 p.m. with The Apettes and Howie Moonlight opening.
