Music aficionadoes can get a head start on this year's Northern Lights Festival on July 2 at Motley Kitchen.

One of this year's newer acts, folk group The Bombadils will feature on the eve of the festival with a dinner and show performance.

For more than five years The Bombadils have been performing around the world with their unique fusion of traditional, world and progressive folk.

They have been described as “chamber folk,” their musical chops, rooted in classical and jazz music and each member of the group trained at McGill University.

The band's four members each hail from their own unique corner of Canada; group members Sarah Frank (fiddle, banjo, vocals), Luke Fraser (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Alan Mackie (bass, vocals) and Anh Phung (flutes, harmonica, vocals) have since solidified their friendship and their craft with over 50,000 kilometers of touring and countless performances together.

Dinner and entertainment will cost $50 and doors will open at 6 p.m. with the buffet dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

Seats for the show only are also available by pre-paid reservation in advance for $19 each.

Seating is limited so reserve early. Drop by the Motley Kitchen at 70 Young St. during business hours (Monday- Friday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or call 705-222-6685.
