We asked and Dolly Dagenais responded. Last week, NorthernLife.ca asked readers to tell us about their brushes with fame.
We plan on sharing our favourites.
Dagenais was the first to respond and she had quite a story to tell.
It was a kiss she has never forgotten.
Back in 1980, Dagenais had a job playing the piano at the Peter Piper Inn in downtown Sudbury.
American musician and actor Kris Kristofferson was staying at the hotel while playing a gig at the nearby Sudbury Arena.
One night, he came into the lounge where Dagenais was playing.
In posing for a photo with Dagenais, he gave her a kiss on the lips.
“It was soft and sweet,” she said.
Although she's now 77 years old, Dagenais has never forgotten that moment with Kristofferson.
“I'd like to meet him again someday, but I don't know when it's going to happen,” she said. “I just hope it happens before I die.”
This wasn't the only time Dagenais has had an encounter with a celebrity. She also has a photo of herself with Guy Lombardo taken in 1974 at a dance in Toronto.
