The Classy Chassys, a Saskatoon-based Hard Rockabilly band, will bring their unique brand of rockabilly madness to the Townehouse Tavern on Sept. 4.

The band are releasing their Rebel Heart EP and touring Western Canada preaching their white hot brand of rockabilly music.

What is rockabilly, you may ask? People tend to think Elvis, Johnny Cash and other 50s artists.

However the group's various influences of rock and roll, punk, blues, jazz and more combine to create a high energy, hard hitting sound, leaving you with visions of bands like Flogging Molly, Rancid, and AC/DC.

With an emphasis on an explosive live show, guitarist/singer Matt Joyal, upright bassist Dan Neumeier, saxophonist Kenny Martelli, and drummer Luke Saretsky prove that this ain't just 50s music anymore.

After releasing their debut album “Ain't No Thang” in the spring of 2013, the Classy Chassys joined forces with Danny Craig of Default to produce the rock n' roll spirited Rebel Heart EP, released February 2015.

Joining forces with Danny Craig proved to be a smart career move on the Chassys' part, as the resulting EP showcases not only the rockabilly influence but also captures the rock n roll feel they were going for.

The lead single “Rebel Heart” from the EP, Rebel Heart, has been making headway having been featured across Canada.

The Classy Chassys are currently working on pre-production with Danny Craig to complete their upcoming full-length album.

The show takes place starting at 10 p.m. Tickets cost $7 at the door.
