The Sudbury Theatre Centre will present The Sal & Sandy Show, a one-night-only comedy special, on Sept. 18 to kick off the 2015-16 season.

This will also be the public’s first opportunity to experience the newly renovated STC Gallery and Vale Cabaret.

Starring Sudbury’s own Sandra Battaglini and actor/comedian Phil Luzi, both recently seen on the STC stage in the hit Italian farce In Piazza San Domenico, The Sal & Sandy Show transports us into the offices of Toronto’s largest non-union talent agency where owner Sal Feldman (Luzi) is always on
the lookout for fresh, hot acts to spice up his roster.

Along with his star client and agency receptionist, Sandy Frigginelli (Battaglini), Sal unleashes the most surreal and brilliant talent his agency has to offer over the course of the night.

Featured in the “agency showcase” are Toronto-based comedians DJ Demers, Tim Nasiopoulos, Christina Walkinshaw, and Sudbury’s own Alessandro Costantini as the musical guest.

A popular mainstay of the Toronto comedy scene, The Sal & Sandy Show comes to the Sudbury Theatre Centre for one night only Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 for subscribers, $25 for adults, and $12 for students.

Following the main event, STC will host its first Late Night Lounge featuring local stand-up comedians Clint Couchie and Phil Rawson, Sudbury Burlesque’s Dolce Tetas, and additional performances by Battaglini, Luzi, and Costantini.

The Late Night Lounge begins at 10 p.m. Admission is $5 with the purchase of The Sal & Sandy Show or $10 at the door.

Tickets for The Sal & Sandy Show and the Late Night Lounge are available now at the Sudbury Theatre Centre Box Office in-person at 170 Shaugnessy St., by calling 705-674-8381, or online at sudburytheatre.ca.
