This is the big kick off to the fall and winter season for the Food Bank and the tournament has raised more than $70,000 in the past three years.

All of the money raised through the tournament goes to the facility's food budget.

“Fall and winter is the busiest time for us in terms of food donations, summer is the time is the busiest time for distributing food though so we collect all that we can from September to December,” said said Dan Xilon, executive director with the Sudbury Food Bank.

“We're just about empty now and this event kicks us off an gets our shelves restocked.”

This year's tournament is a scramble format and will tee-off at noon on Sept. 12. Three big prizes are up for grabs in the hole in one contest this year, including a brand new Cadillac, an electric car, and a $10,000 cash prize.

“This tournament has grown every year and it's always sold out,” said Xilon.

Participants will get 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner, gift bags and a $50 gift certificate.

“Thanks to our incredible sponsors and the people who support us we're expecting this to be our most successful year so far,” said Xilon
