Arts non-profit organizations in the region are invited to attend ArtsBuild Ontario’s LEARN IT | BUILD IT | MANAGE IT workshop on Oct. 6 and 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Greater Sudbury Public Library South End Branch.
The two day workshop designed to strengthen the management and financial capacity of non-profit arts and cultural centres. It is the first provincewide workshop that helps non-profit organizations gain knowledge and skills to build, manage and finance their facilities, and to engage the community in their building projects.
LEARN IT | BUILD IT | MANAGE IT will be presented in 10 Ontario communities from October 2014 to March 2016.
Arts organizations will gain the necessary knowledge, tools and resources to manage facilities from a non-profit standpoint.
The workshop includes four half-day modules, led by experts Rick Gosine, Richard Bright, Jaime Hass and Jeremy Freiburger.
Topics covered at the workshop include building new facilities, alternative financing options for creative spaces, managing/maintaining sustainable facilities and engaging your community in your creative spaces.
Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) is one of the hosts for the workshop and the goal of the organization is to strengthen economic development and quality of life in the Greater Sudbury area.
