Hands on Exotics is a Toronto-based animal shelter specializing in the care of exotic animals — and not your typical dog and cat variety.

According to the service's website, most of the animals it cares for started out as pets in private homes until their owners could no longer take care for them, while others had either been seized by the SPCA or other animal control services.

Hands on Exotics funds its services through outreach programs, like visiting schools, nursing homes, daycare centres and festivals.
