YES Theatre has announced the lineup for its seventh season.

From Dec. 15-21, the troupe will present "The Last Five Years." The story explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress.

The show uses a form of storytelling in which Cathy's story is told in reverse chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie's is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple have first met).

It is an intimate look into the all the joys and sorrows associated with loving someone.

From Aug. 11-27, 2016, the company presents the popular musical "Hairspray."

Based on the New Line Cinema film written and directed by John Waters, YES Theatre said it's proud to present "this landmark musical," which the company says tells a story that's socially and politically relevant to today.

Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, "Hairspray" tells the tale of plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad in 1962 Baltimore, Md., who has only one desire — to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star.

YES Theatre is known for its successful productions of "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Rent," "Spring Awakening," "HAIR," "Les Miserables" (with the SSO), "In The Heights," "American Idiot" and "Fiddler on the Roof."

Auditions for "Hairspray" are being held from 12-5 p.m. Dec. 28-29. To book an audition, or for further information, please email [email protected].
