Classical guitar concert at Cambrian tonight

Cambrian College’s School of Music and the Sudbury Guitar Society will host classical guitarist Carlo Marchione Oct. 26 as part of his Canadian concert tour.

A guitar virtuoso and guitar teacher, Marchione’s sublime musicianship creates an unforgettable concert experience, a press release said.

His performance at Cambrian College will bring to life under-performed gems from Scarlatti, Telman, Haydan, Giulliani and Sor in this first concert of the Sudbury Guitar Society’s season.

Born in Rome, Marchione teaches guitar at the Maastricht Academy of Music and conducts master classes and guest lectures at a number of European academies.

A celebrated artist, Marchione studied at the Academy of Music in Rome, and since then, has won innumerable awards at international competitions and has performed in nearly all of the large concert halls in the world.

The concert takes place starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Cambrian College amphitheatre (room 2226).
